We make every effort to minimise the impact of our activities on the environment
We use only FSC- or PEFC-certified paper, the guarantee of environmentally-friendly management and hence evidence of the fact that our actions are responsible.
- FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) is a certificate promoting the sustainable management of forests worldwide.
- PEFC (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification System) is a more recent certificate created on the basis of an initiative launched by forestry and timber professionals ensuring that the provenance of paper is strictly monitored and traced.
Paper waste is handled by a company which specialises in recycling waste paper.
- Kodak NexPress printer:
Kodak NexPress is a digital colour printing process (manufactured from recycled materials) designed to maximise the reuse and recycling of components such as the accessories and replacement parts which are designed to be reused or rebuilt. The NEXPRESS printers use a system which allows the colours to be monitored and adjusted to reduce printing waste. The dry ink containers are recyclable.
- Ecological (printing) inks
These dry inks contain no VOCs (volatile organic compounds). The use of dry inks for a high-gloss finish allows the sheets of paper to be easily recycled. Dry inks contain no hazardous components and therefore are not subject to toxic waste disposal processes.
In compliance with section 102 of the CPSIA law (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) of 2008 (USA), lead and lead compounds are not involved in the manufacture of Kodak NexPress dry inks or Kodak NexPress fixer liquids. Since they are non-toxic, our substances can be handled by children.
Large Formats: Dibond, Forex and Kadapak
Inks (does not include Plexi). During the UV hardening process, the interaction of the ink with a strong UV light causes the ink to harden instantly. The vast majority of UV inkjet inks contain no solvents.
Advances made in the production of UV inks has led to low levels of toxicity for easy handling.
As characteristic of Agfa Inks, UV inkjet inks are stable, harden very quickly and are easy to handle. The inkjet finish is excellent and the inks adhere to a wide range of substrates, offering superior image quality, brilliant colours and perfectly clean edges.
Agfa is able to obtain the best ink characteristics: the widest possible range of colours, which are clear and bright, glossy and uniform, for internal or external applications. They adhere well to a wide range of substrates, whether rigid or flexible, including wood, metal and glass, coated and uncoated. Excellent fade- and scratch-resistance..
The cotton used in our Canvases is sustainably farmed, and has been cultivated in keeping with the principle of social and environmental responsibility.
Chemical waste management:
The use of hazardous chemical products is kept to a strict minimum. We have made a commitment to replace all products which are harmful to the environment by environmentally-friendly products as far as is humanly possible.
Chemical waste is collected by a company which specialises in the re-processing of chemicals in order to minimise their impact on the environment in compliance with national and European legislation.
All our digital printers are low voltage, which means that they are in automatic or sleep mode, thus reducing gas emissions (GES) and naturally the use of energy.
All of our electricity comes from green energy sources.
Green energy means electricity generated by renewable energy sources. They are called renewable because they continually renew themselves under the effects of the natural world. They are thus inexhaustible, unlike fossil fuels (coal, oil) which will inevitably dwindle.
Thanks to renewable energy sources, we are helping lower greenhouse gas emissions and reducing our energy dependency.
